In this special year, coinciding with Porsche’s 75th celebration and the 60th anniversary of the 911 model line, Porsche Charleston’s dedication to classic Porsche restoration exemplified the brand’s enduring legacy.
The vehicle at the heart of Porsche Charleston’s submission is a 1983 Porsche 911 SC. Procured by the same sales team who is responsible for our sales inventory, this remarkable candidate was the perfect canvas for a tribute to the iconic 911s that conquered the challenging East African terrain.
The homage to the 1978 East African Safari Rally was not merely a restoration but a creative transformation that involved careful attention to detail. It encompassed both mechanical and aesthetic improvements, making it a standout entry in the Restoration category. The dedication to authenticity and craftsmanship was evident in every aspect of this Porsche 911 SC, capturing the spirit of the iconic rally cars of the past.
Our Parts team sourced both the Porsche Classic Genuine Parts and the performance upgrades needed for this restoration. Their dedication to authenticity and performance ensured that every component used in the project met the highest standards.
The heart of the restoration was entrusted to our Service team, comprised of Porsche-trained technicians with an unwavering passion for these classic vehicles. They not only performed the restorations but also expertly installed the parts, ensuring that the 911 SC would not only look the part but also perform admirably.
The expertise of our Collision Center shone through in the flawless painting job, capturing the essence of the Paris–Dakar Rally vehicles and elevating the project to a new level of authenticity.
For the finishing touches, our Reconditioning Center team stepped in to work their magic with detailing and polishing, ensuring that the restored 911 SC would sparkle with pride. Their attention to detail and commitment to perfection added the final layer of excellence to the project.
This collaborative endeavor truly showcased the talents and resources available to Porsche Charleston clients.
