Our scrutiny is your peace of mind.
Step 1: Ordering a new SmartKey (usually less than 1 hour)
The vehicle must be brought to Porsche Charleston before we can order a new Smart Key so that our technicians can determine which “key tracts” are available for the new key.
Step 2: Activation/Deactivation (usually less than 3 hours)
When the new Smart Key arrives, Porsche Charleston is required to test the function of the new Smart Key, and deactivate any missing Smart Keys so that they can never be used in the theft of the vehicle. This process requires that all remaining Smart Keys are available to our technicians so they can determine which “key tracts” must be deactivated. When everything is complete we will document and register the changes with Porsche USA.
Only the vehicle’s owner, or someone authorized by the vehicle’s owner, can order a replacement key from a Porsche dealer. In order to do so, we must require proof of identity and vehicle ownership with original documents, as detailed below.
If you are the current owner of the vehicle, please bring:
☑ Driver’s license with photo or passport.
☑ The vehicle’s current state registration, title or any ownership document accepted by the DMV to issue a title.
If you are an authorized representative†, please bring:
☑ The vehicle’s current registration, title or any ownership document accepted by the DMV to issue a title.
☑ Authorized representative’s driver’s license with photo or passport.
☑ An original document authorizing the representative to act on behalf of the vehicle owner.

Victor began his career in food/beverage starting in the late 80’s in Hilton Head Island, SC, and in the mountains of western North Carolina. Happy to return to the SC coast, he graduated from Johnson & Wales University Charleston in 1991 and worked in the thriving downtown restaurant scene. After adventures in the gourmet coffee/coffee equipment industry and in the real estate development field (supervising commercial and high-end residential development in the U.S. territory of St. Thomas, VI), Victor arrived at Baker Motor Company in 1999, where he has been involved with the best premium automotive brands in the world. Having worked with Mercedes, Maserati, Jag/Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Alfa Romeo and Infiniti, Victor has returned to the brand that initially captured and has maintained his enthusiasm since 1999, Porsche.
