It’s not only the engine that creates the dynamic sports car performance of your Porsche. The tires play an essential role too. After all, they are the only part of your Porsche in direct contact with the road. So every revolution of the engine, every movement of the steering wheel, and every touch of the brake pedal can only have an effect thanks to the right tires.

Of course the right tires vary according to the Porsche model, and the type of wheel. The wrong, non-approved choice could negatively affect performance, handling, and safety. That’s why your personal Service Advisor will provide you with the information you need on the latest Porsche-approved N-rated tires, and why you should never fit any others to your Porsche.

Our experienced personnel will help you select the ideal tires for your vehicles, the way you drive them and the roads you drive on. With access to a complete selection of N Spec tire options, rest assured Porsche Charleston is your one-stop-shop for any and all of your tire needs.

Why choose Porsche Charleston?

Authorized seller of Porsche Approved Tires

Tire shops that don't often see Porsche vehicles generally do not stock N-marked Porsche tires. And the tires that they can source in Porsche sizes are often slow sellers for them and could be old-stock.

With access to a complete selection of N-marked tire options, rest assured Porsche Charleston is your one-stop-shop for any and all of your tire needs.

Low-Price Guarantee

Porsche Charleston guarantees the Lowest Installed Price in the Charleston area for Porsche approved tires.

In most cases, our prices are simply the lowest, but we will even refund the difference if in the unlikely event you should find a lower price (that includes installation, taxes, & road hazard) at a local competitor within 30 days of your tire purchase.

See a service advisor for details.

We carry all types of Porsche Tire

Summer Tires

Did you know that asphalt can reach temperatures of up to 140 °F (60 °C) in the summer? Or that your Porsche is subjected to lateral loads of up to 0.045 oz (1.3 g) when cornering? Porsche-recommended summer tires with N-marking use a special rubber compound which remains stable even at high temperatures. With a tread pattern optimized for summer road surfaces, they offer better grip, greater cornering stability and shorter braking distances. Optimum rolling resistance also helps to ensure their fuel efficiency.

Winter Tires

Over 60% of drivers find driving on snow to be highly challenging. Porsche-recommended winter tires – identifiable by their N-marking – give you a sure footing and greater confidence in winter driving conditions. The secret lies in their material composition. Manufactured from a rubber which does not harden in the cold, they maintain more grip even at low temperatures. They also feature tread patterns specially designed to deflect water, provide good lateral support, and to pick up snow for added grip.

Sport Tires

Our nerves send motion commands to our brains at speeds of up to 186 mph (300 km/h). N-marked sport tires instantaneously transmit each steering movement.

All Season Tires

If you prefer not to change your tires with the seasons, Porsche-approved all-season tires offer the perfect compromise between the grip, handling and stability of the best-performing winter and summer tires.

We offer Seasonal Wheel and Tire Sets

You don't wear the same pair of shoes for all occasions, so why should your Porsche?

Ensure maximum performance in every season by changing wheel and tire sets when temperatures change.

Porsche Summer Wheel and Tire Sets

Porsche-recommended summer tires with N-marking use a special rubber compound which remains stable even at high temperatures. With a tread pattern optimized for summer road surfaces, they offer better grip, greater cornering stability and shorter braking distances. Optimum rolling resistance also helps to ensure their fuel efficiency.

Example wheel and tire sets include:

20-/21-inch Carrera S summer wheel-and-tire set painted in Black (satin-gloss).

20-/21-inch Carrera S summer wheel-and-tire set painted in Aurum (satin-gloss).

20-/21-inch Carrera Classic summer wheel-and-tire set

Alloy wheels in asport/elegant dual-arm 5-spoke design with two-tone finish. Titanium-colored paint finished with gloss-lathed front face.

Porsche Winter Wheel and Tire Sets

Winter tyres should already be fitted before snow falls because winter conditions for summer tyres begin at temperatures below around +7°C. Below this point, the tyre compound begins to harden – driving characteristics are worsened and braking distances increased. We therefore recommend that you fit winter tyres during the colder months of the year.

Example wheel and tire sets include:

20/21-inch GT3 winter wheel-and-tire set painted in Black (satin-gloss)

Forged Alloy wheel with central locking. Painted in Black (satin-gloss)

Porsche Tire Markings

Porsche N-marked tires differ from others primarily in terms of geometry, rubber composition and testing methods.

Following the N, a second letter indicates the model line. Further details can be found in each tire’s technical data.

For example, the Porsche 992 tire will be marked NA, indicating it is:

  • N – approved by Porsche
  • A – developed for the Porsche 992

Testing covers three main areas:

  1. Subjective outdoor criteria, such as handling and driving comfort
  2. Objective outdoor criteria, such as braking performance and service life
  3. Indoor criteria, such as rolling resistance and high-speed performance

Load & speed indices:

Indicate the tire's maximum load in encrypted form (101) and maximum permitted speed (Y) at the prescribed air pressure.

Tire size:

Is determined by width in millimetres (265), height/width ratio in percent (40), tire construction (R = radial tire) and rim diameter in inches (21).
